The National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) is the erstwhile Gujarat Forensic Sciences University (GFSU), the world’s first and the only University dedicated to Forensic Science and allied subjects. Recognized as an Institution of National Importance (INI) under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. NFSU is committed to advancing forensic education, research, and innovation. NFSU has established its transit campus at Radhanagar, Agartala, Tripura in November 2021 and a lush green permanent campus will be coming up soon at R.K Nagar, Agartala, Tripura spreading over approximately 15 acre of area.
At present, the campus offers a two-year postgraduate program, a five-year integrated B.Sc.-M.Sc. in Forensic Science, and a five-year integrated B.Tech.-M.Tech. in Computer Science Engineering with a specialization in Cyber Security. Additionally, a new professional diploma in Crime Scene Management will be introduced from the 2025-2026 academic year. With a strong commitment to academic excellence, the campus is dedicated to training students in criminal investigation through world-class education, research, training, and innovation.
The curriculum is meticulously designed by distinguished academicians, forensic experts, scientists, and industrial professionals of national and international repute, ensuring that students acquire the necessary knowledge and skills required in both academia and industry. NFSU provides students with equal opportunities to explore its ultra-modern laboratories, advanced instrumentation facilities, and cutting-edge technologies used in criminal investigations. Beyond academic programs, NFSU Tripura Campus aims to offer short-term training programs and specialized workshops tailored for police personnel, judiciary members, security officials, bankers, chartered accountants, and government officers from Tripura and neighbouring states.
In the near future, NFSU Tripura Campus aims to establish itself as a centre of excellence, focusing on key areas such as narcotic drug detection, border crime investigation, cyber security, drone forensics, anthropology, and toxicological research in food and beverage analysis.
